The Altadena Foothills, Chaney Millard Fire Safe Council (AFCMFSC)
Altadena Foothills Chaney Millard is an urban interface community of hundreds of acres and approximately 64 homes plus cabins in the Millard Campground area that are surrounded by, or residing on National Forest land.
The primary objective and purpose of the AFCMFSC will be to provide education,
exchange information and foster fire prevention and fire safety within the
County of Los Angeles
Because the Millard community is often our first eyes to potential wildfire coming from the north, we work closely together for the betterment of the entire community.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger issued Executive Order S-03-08, which boosts the state's preparedness for wildfire season and directs the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) to immediately mobilize critical firefighting resources and personnel to save lives and homes statewide.
